Mississippi Go Society Membership Catergories There are four membership categories in the Mississippi Go Society. 1. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP COST: Free! BENEFITS: General Members may participate (play Go and receive free, informal instruction from other members) at our weekly public Go Playing Sessions and any time they like in our private club room online on KGS. 2. TOURNAMENT MEMBERSHIP COST: Must join the AGA and list the Mississippi Go Society as your primary Go club. AGA Memberships cost as follows: Youth (Ages 22 and under): $10, Adults: $30, Adults Discounted First year membership: $15 (must sign up through our club using special membership forms the AGA has sent us to get this discounted membership rate) BENEFITS: In addition to the benefits of General Membership our Tournament Members may also play in any and all of our online and in person tournaments (Of course, they will still have to pay tournament fees if any are charged.). Through our AGA rated tournaments they will be eligible to receive and improve their AGA rating. They will also be eligible to receive and use a special Mississippi Go Society Club Ranking (Kyu/Dan). Tournament Members will also receive more dedicated instruction from our members because by joining the AGA they will be proving to us that they are interested in progressing as a Go player, participating in tournaments and helping the rest of us get and improve our AGA ratings. 3. VOTING MEMBERSHIP COST: Donate a $20 Samarkand Gift certificate to the Mississippi Go Society BENEFITS: In addition to the benefits of General Membership and Tournament Membership our Voting Members may attend official club business meetings where they can discuss club business. They may also vote and hold official office in the Mississippi Go Society. However, used Go Books, Boards, Bowls, 7mm Stones (non-lead), Go Clocks, and Carrying Cases which are clean, complete, unscratched, unmarked, unbroken, and in excellent shape may be substituted upon inspection and approval of the Society President for all or part of the amount of any Supporting Membership donation.
